WARNING: This page is intended for use by the person responsible for installing printers and will require "administrator" access to the pc using vTill.
There is a wide range of receipt printers available on the market but the Help Desk can only fully support recommended models which are available to them. Currently the recommended receipt printer is the Epson TM-T88IV receipt printer.
If you choose not to use the recommended printer then you will need to install it by following the instructions supplied with it but the Helpdesk will not be able to assist you in this matter. The remainder of this document is specific to the recommended printer and can be safely ignored.
The Epson TM-T88IV receipt printer is not supplied with any drivers so you will need to download them using one of the following methods:
- Register on the Epson's website www.epson-pos.com and download the Advanced Printer Driver for the Epson TM-T88IV.
- Download a self-extracting zip file containing the Advanced Printer Driver from www.bprsolutions.co.uk/downloads/epson_apd_405e.zip.
Registering on the epson-pos website give you the added advantage of keeping uptodate with new releases from Epson.
In both cases you will need open the zip file and read the installation instructions before running the printer installation program.
Once you have installed the printer you will need to configure vTill to use the printer using the Options page.
Can I print my logo on the receipt?
You can print a logo on each receipt printed using an Epson TM-T88IV receipt printer. This is done using the Printing Preferences option on the printer (in Control Panel, Printers) and selecting the Document Settings tab, followed by the Logo Printing, Start of Document option in the list. You can then select the file you wish to print by choosing the Select image file for use and pressing the Browse button.
Can I change the font used to print the receipt?
When using an Epson TM-T88IV receipt printer you can change the font used to print the receipt using the Printing Preferences option of the printer. This is achieved using the Printer Settings tab and selecting the True Type Font Substitution option in the list.
You then choose the Substitute option and press the Advanced Settings button.
You then need to select the Courier New font in the list and the substitute font you wish to use from the drop down (e.g. FontA). Pressing OK twice will then save the changes you have made.
Can I connect a cash drawer to my receipt printer?
You can connect a cash drawer to your printer but you will need to configure the printer to automatically open it when you print a receipt. You can do this using the Printing Preferences for the printer and selecting the Document Settings tab. You can then select the Cash Drawer option and set it to open the drawer when a receipt is printed. When you have done this press OK to save the change.
