The Booking Pro database uses Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express which is a free of charge version of Microsoft SQL Server. The database software runs as service within Microsoft Windows and as such it is not simply a case of copying files from one PC to another. Instead to move the database to another PC you need to carry out the following instructions:

• On the PC to act as the database server
  • Use the installation CD to install just the database software.
     
• On the PC with Booking Pro installed on it
  • Start Booking Pro and sign-in.
  • Use the Backup Database option on the File menu to make a backup of your data.
  • Exit from Booking Pro.
  • Start Booking Pro without signing-in and use the Database Settings option on the File menu. Then click Next and follow the instructions on the screen to create a new database called BookingPro ensuring that the server name for the new database is that of the PC to act as the database server.
  • Sign-in to Booking Pro and use the Restore Database option on the Tools menu to restore the latest backup copy of the database.
  • Run Booking Pro and check that the data is complete.
