| Restoring Backups |
To restore a backup taken using Booking Pro (see Taking Backups) use the Restore Database option on the Tools, Database menu to display the following form.
WARNING: Restoring a backup overwrites your existing data so USE WITH GREAT CARE!!

To restore one of the backups shown select the file from the list and click the Restore button. Then confirm that you want to restore the file.
What happens when I restore a backup?
When you restore a backup your current data is replaced with the data which existed in the database at the time the backup file was created. Your existing data is permanently lost and as such by default a backup will automatically be performed to help avoid any unnecessary loss of data. Should you inadvertently restore the wrong backup this backup allows you to restore your current data. To stop this backup taking place simply clear the Automatically backup before restoring data checkbox before clicking the Restore button.
How do I tell which is the latest backup?
The latest backup is the one with the most recent date and time in the filename and is normally the one at the top of the list.
What are the different types of backup?
A Normal Backup is one taken using the Backup Database option. Pre backups are ones taken automatically before carrying out certain operations (e.g. Database Maintenance).
Can I restore a backup from a different folder?
To restore a backup from a different folder use the "..." button to browse to the folder containing the backup files.
What happens if I uncheck "Ignore Time Zones"?
If you clear the Ignore Time Zones checkbox then the restore will reflect any differences between the time zones on the backup and restore pcs. This will only have an effect if the backup file was produced using a pc configured to use a different time zone from that used to do the restore. For example if the backup was taken using a "Pacific" time zone and restored using a "GMT" time zone then the restored times of bookings will be changed to reflect the differences between the time zones. In most cases this is NOT what is required so Ignore Time Zone should be left checked.
